Currently on a three-game losing streak in the Premier League, Luton Town could probably think of a few opponents they'd rather play than last season's all-conquering Treble winners in the FA Cup fifth round.

Although Rob Edwards' side lost just once in nine games in all competitions between late December and early February – knocking out Bolton and Everton in the FA Cup – they have conceded a worrying 13 goals in their last four games. Having Alfie Doughty fit again will help, but top scorer Elijah Adebayo remains absent through injury.

City have won 15 of their last 17 outings in all competitions, the title-winning form surge that tends to arrive at this time of year now firmly entrenched for 2024. With John Stones back to fitness, Pep Guardiola's side are again very difficult to break down. City will start as heavy favorites but nevertheless found the Kenny roar tough to deal with in December's 2-1 league win.

Pep Guardiola's side were made to work hard for victory when the two teams met in last December's corresponding league fixture, with second-half goals from Bernardo Silva and Jack Grealish proving enough after Elijah Adebayo fired the Hatters into a shock lead.

City make the trip south after a pair of 1-0 league wins, although Kevin De Bruyne was restricted to a handful of minutes in last Saturday's 1-0 success at Bournemouth and could be named on the bench, once again, to ensure he avoids further aggravating any injury niggles with the business stage of the season fast approaching.

Luton have had a bit more time to prepare for the cup clash, as their most recent outing was last Wednesday's 4-1 defeat to Liverpool, but Alfie Doughty and Albert Sambi Lokonga are fitness doubts after limping off at Anfield.

Kenilworth Road has been a challenging venue for most of the country's big clubs in the 2023/24 campaign and Hatters boss Rob Edwards will, no doubt, be hoping his side can deliver another dogged display and claim a famous win under the lights.

Pep Guardiola's team travel to Kenilworth Road to face the Hatters in the fifth round of the prestigious cup competition this evening. City go into the game on the back of a 1-0 win over Bournemouth in the Premier League.

City beat Tottenham Hotspur in the previous round of the competition to earn a spot in the fifth round. Victory over Luton would see City book a place in the quarter-final of the FA Cup as Guardiola looks to win the tournament for the second consecutive season.

Luton beat Everton in their fourth-round tie to set up the game at Kenilworth Road against City. The Hatters' priority is to try and secure their Premier League status for another season, but will also be hoping to claim a famous win over City.

Pep Guardiola will be forced to deal with some injury concerns heading into the fixture against Luton Town. Josko Gvardiol is a doubt for the game due to an ankle injury. The defender has missed City's last four matches and was expected to be sidelined for a few weeks. Guardiola confirmed that Gvardiol is closing in on a return to action, but would not say if the defender would be part of the matchday squad against Luton.

Jack Grealish has been dealing with an injury in recent weeks after he was substituted against FC Copenhagen earlier this month. The England international was on the bench for the win over Bournemouth on Saturday and looks to be available once again.

Pep Guardiola's team remain on course to potentially defend their trophy treble from 2023 as they battle on in the Premier League title race and the UEFA Champions League. Hosts Luton are in the middle of a relegation battle with a four-point gap to top-flight safety ahead of the campaign run in.

Man City are almost back to full strength with Josko Gvardiol the only confirmed injury absentee. Phil Foden's goal was enough to secure a 1-0 Premier League win over Bournemouth last weekend, and he should start, as part of a rotated line up for Guardiola.

Left-back Alfie Doughty is set to return for the hosts on the back of three successive Premier League defeats for Rob Edwards' side. Tim Krul, Andros Townsend and Reece Burke could come in as part of a refreshed team. City are on a roll as they aim to sweep up more trophies this season with a 17-game unbeaten run across all competitions ahead of this clash.

Luton, on the other hand, have started to blossom well in the Premier League, as they aim to survive in their debut season in the top flight. Also, they will be keen on to disrupt Man City's invincible run in 2024 with a shocking win.

There has only been one game between these two teams, it was last December 10, 2023 in the Premier League. Where Bernardo Silva and Jack Grealish were the scorers of the match. Also, Elijah Adebayo for Luton. It was a score in favor of City 2 to 1.

Where Guardiola's team came out with a starting team, with the exception of Halaand, Julián Álvarez was the starting 9, Kevin De Bruyne was not called up due to injury.

The Fifth Round of the FA Cup will be another phase of this tournament, having interesting duels, where Chelsea's duels against Leeds, Manchester City against Luton, and Manchester United against Nottingham Forest stand out. Liverpool against Southampton. There are still teams like Coventry City, Maidstone Utd and Blackburn Rovers looking to go the distance.

Our last trip to Kenilworth Road saw City travel south on 10 December 2023. The hosts took the lead on the brink of half-time through an Elijah Adebayo strike.

Pep Guardiola’s side were forced to work hard for the three points but finally drew level courtesy of a Bernardo Silva goal shortly after the half hour mark.

The hosts tested City’s defensive line with some late opportunities as they searched for an equaliser. But Pep Guardiola‘s side were able to hold out for a vital three points to move within one of Premier League leaders Liverpool.

Pep Guardiola's men beat Manchester United at Wembley on the way to completing a famous treble last season, and they want to make it two in a row.

Man City are one of the clear favourites to win this tournament, but a midweek trip to Luton won't be easy. The Hatters gave the Premier League champions a really good game earlier this season at Kenilworth Road. Rob Edwards' side are currently fighting a relegation battle, but you can still expect them to put up a fight.
